When cookbook author and nutrition educator Meredith McCarty continues her monthly series of cooking classes in Menlo Park on Saturday, April 24th her focus will be on the health benefits and culinary uses of tempeh. She promises to teach you how to lighten traditional recipes designed for chicken to shine with tempeh, including a recipe for Tempeh Marbella adapted from the “Silver Palate Cookbook.” Full menu and registration details after the jump.
Meredith’s Menu is as follows: Basic Braised Tempeh with Variations, Tempeh Marbella, Brown Jasmine Rice with Spring Greens, TLT Tempeh Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich and concluding with her justifiably famous Strawberry Rhubard Pie.
Meredith continues the series with classes scheduled in May (Low Acid Eating: The Best of Macrobiotic and Raw) and June (Light and Luscious Summer Desserts). The class fee is $60 each, or $55 with registration for two or more. To register or for more information, contact Patty Evans at 650 988-9342 or pevans18@sbcglobal.net. If you do not live in the Bay Area or are unable to attend, you can purchase the recipes from her website.
