Vegan Thanksgiving, A 22-year old Tradition

Next Monday, November 23rd, marks the 22nd year our vegetarian/ vegan community dinner group celebrates an early Thanksgiving in Palo Alto.  As usual all are welcome to  join us at 6:30 at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Street.  The meal begins with sparkling punch and concludes with “mince meat” pie with tofu cream and tea.  In between there’ll be a mushroom and sage broth soup, bread with miso-tahini spread, tempeh-veggie cutlets with mushroom gravy, cornbread stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, mixed green salad and orange-ginger cranberry sauce. Recipes for some of the dishes are posted on this blog.  We’ll be cooking up  a storm, and always happy to share recipes verbally after dinner or by email. Details here.
